About

Christina Belardo (she/her) is a scientific illustrator and artist originally from Newark, Delaware exploring the Rocky Mountain West currently based out of Eagle County, Colorado. Christina’s art is inspired by the natural world and to capture the realistic fine details that plants, animals, and nature conceal in their beauty. By taking the time to carefully examine a specimen, she has been able to understand the adaptations and physical qualities of biotic factors and the finer details of the abiotic factors in which they thrive. She uses sketching, cross-hatching, and stippling (dots) of pen and ink to show every detail of a specimen she observes. She loves visually communicating how the natural world looks to individuals in detail that may not be captured with the naked eye or in a photograph. In hopes, by taking a look at her work more, the greater beauty of the natural world you will see.
